Frequently asked questions
Useful answers before production begins.
Practical guidance for preparing a design or print request and understanding what happens next.
What files should I send?
Send any available logo files, brand guidelines, copy, images, dimensions and reference material. If artwork already exists, include both the final version and editable source files where possible. Large files can be shared through an agreed file-transfer method.
Which file formats are preferred?
A print-ready PDF is commonly preferred for finished artwork. Vector logos are best supplied as AI, EPS, SVG or editable PDF files. High-resolution TIFF or JPEG files may be suitable for photographs. Requirements depend on the product and production method, so we can confirm the correct format before production.
Can NightDesign help with the design?
Yes. NightDesign can create a new design, develop materials within an existing brand system or adapt supplied artwork to the required formats. Include the objective, audience, content and any brand guidance in your request.
How long does production take?
Timing depends on the product, quantity, materials, finishing, artwork readiness and current production requirements. A realistic schedule can be provided after the complete scope has been reviewed.
Do you offer urgent production?
Urgent requests can be reviewed for feasibility. Availability depends on the product, quantity, materials, artwork readiness and production schedule. Contact NightDesign as early as possible with the required completion date.
Can you print small quantities?
Small quantities may be possible, particularly with suitable digital production methods. The most appropriate option depends on the product, material, dimensions and finishing requirements.
Do you offer delivery or installation?
Delivery or installation can be discussed where the project requires it. Availability, location, access, dimensions and installation conditions should be included in the request so they can be considered in the scope.
Can I request a quote online?
Yes. Use the Request a Quote page to organize the main project details, or contact NightDesign by email or telephone. Supplying clear quantities, dimensions and timing helps the request move faster.
What information is needed for a quote?
Describe the product or service, quantity, dimensions, material if known, number of versions, desired finishing, delivery or installation needs and target date. Also state whether design support is required and attach or reference any existing artwork.
Can I supply my own design?
Yes. Supplied artwork should match the required dimensions and production specifications. NightDesign can review it for technical readiness and advise if adjustments or prepress work are needed.
How are print colours handled?
Screen colours and printed colours are produced differently, so some variation can occur. Artwork is generally prepared for the relevant production colour process, and important brand colours should be identified in advance. Material, ink, finish and lighting can also affect the final appearance.
What happens before printing is approved?
The artwork, content, dimensions and relevant production specification are presented or confirmed for approval. Clients should check names, numbers, spelling, language versions and visual details carefully. Production proceeds after the required approval is received.
